The challenge

Packaging recyclability assessments are detailed, material-specific and deadline-driven. Doing them manually (or via repeated consultancy engagements) does not scale across large product catalogues, and businesses still need auditable Red / Amber / Green outcomes aligned to UK reporting periods.

Without a proper tool, teams struggle to track progress across products and components, evidence uploads, and assessments that need attention before submission deadlines.

Our approach

We designed and built a greenfield SaaS platform around Certitude’s domain expertise - encoding the Recyclability Assessment Methodology into structured, material-specific assessment forms rather than free-text spreadsheets.

The product was shaped as a multi-tenant cloud application from the start: organisations, departments and role-based users; products broken into components; assessments tied to regulatory submission periods; and dashboards that make progress and risk visible.

The solution

Built the Certitude Recyclability Assessment Tool as a full-stack cloud SaaS - Angular front end, NestJS API, MongoDB, and AWS hosting - so UK businesses can complete and manage packaging recyclability assessments online.
